My love for drawing and painting started at an early age. I made my first oil painting at the age of 12. At the age of 16, I received my first commission. While raising my children and during my career, I limited myself to drawings and watercolour. During covid, I suddenly had time to work with acrylic paint and improve my oil painting techniques.
I like to paint from observation; beautiful Dutch landscapes, towns and streets, the coast, the sea and urban life. Portraits, interiors, children, animals, birds - inspiration is everywhere. Painting is simply wonderful. I always paint the world as I remember or see it and immerse myself in the subject and colours: what and who do I see, smell, feel and hear? I transfer these observations to the painting, creating an impressionistic rendering.
Although I usually paint indoors, I also enjoy working outdoors. I also paint on commission. Together, we decide how to convey your vision for the painting onto canvas or panel.
